Asterisk 4 Mac OSX Leopard running on Intel based Apple Computers

Hello, right here you can download Asterisk for your Mac. It's precompiled and has a somewhat automated installation, so it'll safe you some time! No X11, Xcode or wget requirements, just Leopard will be enough. :) Ofcourse no Dahdi/Zaptel, 'only' Asterisk with a lot of stuff. It can be used as a SIP trunk for your mobile phone to your SIP provider for example. Or whatever you would like to do with it... It's 1.6.0.11-rc1.

It gives some trouble on Mac OSX Snow Leopard, I'll fix this in the future

Asterisk stores files in all kinds of places when it's compiled for a Mac, this thing doesn't change that. Use at your own risk.

After installing this you can start a shell and do a 'asterisk -r' to get in asterisk. Configuration files can be found in /usr/local/etc/asterisk. After installation the asterisk process will run all the time, look for 'launchd' on Google to change the behaviour.

Todo:

  • Run as user Asterisk instead of root
  • Make a DMG!
  • Make Asterisk put its stuff in better places
  • Make a removal thing

If you can help me with these few things please send me a mail! Also if you have other remarks/questions!

    Instructions:

  • Download
  • Start a shell
  • Do a 'sudo su -'
  • mv Downloads/installasterisk.tar.gz /
  • cd /
  • tar -zxvf installasterisk.tar.gz
  • ./installasterisk.sh

That's it! After this you can delete asterisk.tar.gz, installasterisk.tar.gz and installasterisk.sh from /
